Introduce...

Welcome my page. My Handle Name is "Intora". 
Let me introduce a little.  I have a SUZUKI Motorcycle, GSX1100S, name is "KATANA", and I am a member of the KATANA OWNERS CLUB.  The katana is my favorite motorcycle that I ever met.  
I created this page to share and to have any chance to communicate with international Katana Owners.  The name "KATANAISM" is for my thought that there would be many friends who can understand in having the common principle as " Katana Owner ".
Over a hundred of Websites would be exist in Japan which made a subject for the Katana.
but, I believe,  my page is the first page for that send Japanese domestic situation about Katana to the world.


And also ..... It is a kind of study English for myself.....(:.:)! 

The information on this page is my personal opinion and is not the one which represents each groups.

I'm Lovin' it...

My Katana is 1992 model type "SSL". Red/Silver painted body with black colored engine. 
There are two kinds of SSL types, one is black coating carburetor and the other is aluminum 
skins. My SSL has aluminum skin.

KATANA OWNERS CLUB(JAPAN)...

The club was established by Mr.Yamaguchi and their friends in 1986, little after Katana was born.  This club is now the biggest club in Japan as a Owners Club which is for only one type of a motorcycle. The certificate of the member is the club sticker on its somewhere Katana body ( shown above ).  The main point of this club is to enjoy the historically famous motorcycle, "KATANA".  There is not a minute rule of the club but it needs common sense. It is enough that you have a KATANA. ( 400cc, 250cc engine displacement in case of the man are impossible but in case of the woman, they don't ask a type of the motorcycle. ) Therefore, the condition of the vehicle to deal with as the rule of the club is a SUZUKI KATANA has equal to or more than 750 cc engine displacement and it designed by Hans A.Muth .
That means, GSX750S, GSX1000S and GSX1100S are included but GSX250S, GSX400S and GS650G are not included.
There are almost 700 members in this huge club at present in Japan.  (I don't know how many de-active members are in now..... I've heard many dead numbers are existing.)
Although the manufacture of the motorcycle itself ended, the club number of the new members is still increasing because of the motorcycle boom for the middle-aged layer comes to these several years in Japan and they loves their aged style Motorcycle.
In the old-fashioned model, supply parts is in a stopping state.  It considers the fact how to service KATANA in the maintenance in the future and it is the time which we must fix the policy of the club in the future. For example, does it admit the vehicle which had the engine of the completely different type of the motorcycle?   and so on. 

Mr.Yokouchi, and Mr.Tani, SUZUKI staffs in those days and they also the developers of the KATANA are the honorary members of this club. 

The club has a Home Page but Japanese only. English button is only a image... 

"Katanaism" is authorized as an English page by KOC Japan.

The Samurai Katana...  

To get the embroidery of "SAMURAI KATANA", it is necessary to become SAMURAI member with the following condition must be met.
1.  Be a member in the KATANA OWNERS CLUB.
2. Get a recommendation of each branch leader or the SAMURAI member.
3. There be a driving skill that the authorization test can be endured.
4. The leader, PAPA-san notice zest as the member.
5. The person who devote oneself to personally after getting approval.

There are 25 members in JA, and 1 in U.K. at present.  One thing I have to mention about ...... 
The Samurai test is very hard to pass. The test are made situations in Windings, Straights and Traffic congestions taking part as a leader and a follower. 
I have Samurai No.20 but....This is important.... I'm sure I am "Good" rider.....???

The Editorial...  

At Page starting:
The most of club members are exchange his Katana with some after-market parts which are brake-system, exhaust-system, wheels and tires and so on.  I am not an exception, too.
The vehicle which is keeping an original condition is quite rare.  The manufacture of katana had been ended and to repeat the number of years after that. I became conscious of the original save. I think I will maintain my Katana its original as much as possible. The leader in the club and myself are the same age and the way of thinking to katana seems to be in the same direction.
    
KATANA OWNERS CLUB is now becoming SUZUKI official authorization club but the club has a rule about engine displacement mentioned before. The another Katana rider, like under 750cc engine displacement, are established another club that doesn't lay down limitation on the engine displacement.  

Jun.,3rd,05:
The bill which admits tandem rides of the motorcycle at the expressway approved at the Diet.
When thinking of this,  it is still behind in the law service about the motorcycle in Japan. 
For example, to be the price system for the motorcycle at the expressway which is the same as  the car is also a problem. (Especially for me !)

Dec.,5th,05:
When looking back to this one year, by exchanging e-mails with the KAT fan in the foreign countries, I confirmed once more about greatness of this motorcycle.

Easter Weekend 2011 and Suzuki Katana 30th anniversary event by The Katana Australia Group at Albury/Wodonga, NSW.
The event was a great success! Special thanks go to all that made a great effort to attend and especially to those that contributed to making the event a memorable one.

Over two-handred members are joined last year KATANA-KAI Japan Group created on facebook. 
I hope it will be a place that information excange about worldwide KATANA owners.
